[Postdoc Pitch] Invisible physics model from manifold
ABSTRACT
I'll try to deliver my research topic with easy words as in the title. I'm focusing on constructing certain physical models --- quantum field theory (QFT) --- from manifolds, the mathematical object. These models usually do not admit Lagrangian which is the first guiding description for physicists. Nevertheless, we can compute many physical measurements that capture the behaviors of the model. Surprisingly, these constructions uncover hidden links between 3-manifold topology, cluster algebras, and vertex operator algebras, etc.
