Hydrodynamic Limit of the Boltzmann Equation toward Euler Equations
ABSTRACT
We discuss the mathematical connection between the Boltzmann equation and fluid models, including both incompressible and compressible Euler equations, arising in different scaling limits. The talk will consist of three parts:
formal derivations of fluid models;
the two-dimensional incompressible Euler limit toward weak solutions;
the one-dimensional compressible Euler limit toward generic Riemann solutions with shocks.
The material is based on two recent arXiv preprints: arXiv:2603.14671v2 and arXiv:2605.24392v1.
