Professor Hyukjoon Kwon is working on quantum information theory at the intersection of quantum physics, information theory, and computer science. Professor Kwon has been studying the non-classical properties of quantum mechanical systems based on quantum resource theory, where his major research achievement is proposing a general measure to quantify quantum advantage in metrological tasks. He is also recognized for establishing quantum fluctuation theorems and for developing quantum error correction codes based on these theorems. Professor Kwon has published over 30 papers in major journals, and his current research focus is on developing new quantum algorithms and efficient quantum error correction protocols.
