Kim, Jaewan

QUC Distinguished Professor

Quantum Information Science

Jaewan Kim’s research focuses on quantum information science, quantum dynamics, and quantum chaos (or quantum chaology). His work spans from the application of quantum optical systems, such as single-photon entanglement for quantum teleportation and quantum cryptography, to the development of quDit cluster states using Kerr nonlinear interactions. He has pioneered quantum optical concepts to advance quantum information technology. He hosted AQIS (Asian Quantum Information Science Conferences) 2008, 2011, 2015, 2019, and 2023 and organized “Quantum Korea” 2023 and 2024. He founded the Quantum Information Society of Korea (QisK) and served as the first President. He is also the Academic Director of FQCF (Future Quantum Convergence Forum) and has served in various government committees related quantum information technology.
