Research Fellow

The School of Computational Sciences at Korea Institute for Advanced Study (KIAS) invites applications for KIAS research fellow positions in Computational Sciences.

Applicants are expected to have demonstrated exceptional research potential, including major contributions beyond or through their doctoral dissertations. The annual salary is around 48,200,000 Korean Won (current exchange rate) excluding severance pay; an individual research grant of about 10,000,000 Korean Won and a benefit card of approximately 2,000,000 Korean Won will be available each year. (Benefits are subject to change depending on internal regulations and funding.) The initial appointment for this position is for two years with the possibility of a one-time renewal of up to two to three additional years, depending on research performance and the needs of the research program at KIAS. 

Applicants should apply through KIAS Job Recruitment Website by October 31, 2025 (GMT +9) for full consideration. They are asked to submit a curriculum vitae, a list of publications, and a research plan, and arrange for three letters of recommendation to be submitted directly by the referees. 

All documents should be prepared in English (with the exception of reference letters), and KIAS Professors should not be included among the referees. All documents including reference letters should be submitted by deadline, and if any of a certain applicant’s required documents is missing or incomplete, the applicant’s materials may not be evaluated. Only the documents listed above will be considered in the evaluation process.
